Serious Question about Michael Jackson and the music industry.?

Now, I don’t want any comments saying "MJ sucks" or anything like that from the haters that are unrelated to this question, I want serious opinions here.

Now Michael Jackson was arguably the most famous entertainer, better yet, most famous person of all time, Am I right?

Paul Mccartney and Ringo Starr are the only living members of the Beatles, I think i’m right about that…right?

Are either Paul or Ringo in debt?

No. Because they have tons of money, but why is it that the most famous entertainer of all time was in debut. It wasn’t because he spent money on the things he wanted (because he was an adult, he was allowed to use his money however he wanted to!) and it wasn’t because he donated money to charity (if he hadn’t donated that, he wouldve been over 50%richer) but in my honest opinion, I think it was because of his skin color. It was because he was black.

Black people are always ranked second in everything, don’t you call me racist, because I’m both, white and black, but its true, they always have been put after the white working class men (and women) But, don’t you think that Michael didn’t deserve the money he had (well he did) but he deserved more respect? I seriously think that sony should be held responsible for "Invincible"’s album sales, because they didnt premote it, and the man had to do it himself. Even MJ said that they were extremely racist! What do you think?
okay, I know he spent a lot but you guys arent getting the point.

BRITNEY SPEARS SPENDS 9,000 BUCKS ON SHOES!

And just because he buys a nice painting for his house, everyone says that he spent too much money? My mom says she doesnt have money sometimes, but when i come to the house, i see a new painting, or statue, it doesnt mean she has a spending problem..
Ghost of- What the fuck is your problem. "how could a black man be the most famous person"? You’re calling ME a racist? We have a black president because most of the african american population that have never even voted, ran to vote for him, because they thought that having a black president would bring the change and divide the racisim that america needed. Its a fact 96% of the black community voted for obama. Not saying that they all didn’t know anything that he stood for, but I can tell you that a lot didn’t know, and just went out to vote.
What I’m trying to say is that they DO treat black muscians un-fairly, and Michael was just an example
NONE OF YOU ARE GETTING THE POINT!

I’m using Michael as an example of how the black community is treated unfairly. There have been other african americans that got no recognition, didnt get premoted, and didnt get paid fairly, that contributed to music more than the beatles.

I must say that this is the sort of question that people like to shy away from even though its reality.

I must say that in my honest opinion, if white people were to be honest and truthful to their being, majority of them hated the fact that A BLACK MAN was the king of pop. Be it known that I am writing this here today and I believe this strongly to my bone marrows. Most of them did all they could and the media got their way to make sure they ridiculed him as much as they could. And guess what? they succeeded. Its a shame that we’re all too blind to see that THE BIGGEST RACISTS ARE THE MEDIA. They make you and they break you, especially if you’re black.

When Michael Jackson was born, he was ordained The King Of Pop. That crown cannot be passed on because that title was given to him from above not by man. There shall never be another King Of Pop like Michael Jackson. That title seized to exist the day MJ took his last breathe.

For my conclusion, I predict that the media would want to give that title to a white man but I can see that its going to be short-lived. In fact, very short-lived. You don’t steal from A and feed B with it. MJ had no say in life because the media shut him up but I await the fate of ye haters and liars.

PS: when I was growing up as a kid, I was told that the media was neither AGAINST or FOR a debate. They were just the tool used to witness the RIGHTS and WRONGS of the world. Was my government and history teachers wrong, YES 100% WRONG!!!

  2. ♥SEXIEST AVATAR♥ ™ Says:

    Michael was a lavish spender.

And he was delinquent in many of his bills in the latter years (particular after the 2005 acquittal)

Mike went broke because he had creditors down his back left and right. If he woudl have taken better care of his finances like he did in his earlier years, he would have had much more money.

I don’t think it’s racism– we are all responsible for ourselves. Look at Oprah– she’s black AND a woman and she is financially straight.

EDIT: Thumbs down for stating facts?? Hmmm….

I agree with Sexiest Avatar. I don’t feel like typing all that.

  4. LisaWolfe-Jackson Says:

Well, I’ve looked up the info before and he was making a lot of money. His race wan’t a problem. I think he could have made more money if Invincable was promoted. He did spend a lot of money though. If you think about how much a month it could have costed to run Neverland it adds up a bit. Not to mention he had to pay all the people that worked there. He gave a lot to charities. He spent a lot on his videos. If you watch the video from Living With Michael you’ll see him going into a store buying like everything he saw. I totally love MJ and I;m not trying to create any negative messages here. By the way, you mentioned that you don’t like the MJ haters. If you have a Myspace, you should join my group called Defeat the Michael Jackson haters.

  5. Jaden [Leave Me Alone] Says:

Honestly, I would not be surprised if racism was a part of it. These corporate-types know how to cleverly disguise their racism and publicly use something else as a motive. It happens all the time no matter where you go.
I completely agree that MJ did not get the respect he deserved.

Edit: He may have spent a lot but there was a lot of money to start with. Yes, his debts were his responsibility but the promotion for Invincible was very poor and I agree with MJ that Sony had a racist agenda.

  6. inimyaudi Says:

He spent himself into debt- have you ever watched the documentary of him shopping? He had the mind of a child because he had basically been performing since the age of 6. He had so many people working for him and hadn’t really put out a decent hit or toured in 10 years, yet he still tried to maintain a lifestyle by borrowing from Sony. His money managers failed him because they failed to say NO to his eccentric lifestyle.

Also, Paul and Ping have had since the 60s to live off of royalties and fame. Sir Paul even withstood a divorce settlement and still has loads of cash.

Fame and money are two different things-

As for racism, I think you are waaaayy off base. How do you explain Oprah, Bill Cosby, Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, Tiger Woods, and Will Smith? (Most famous famous female & male TV star of all time, 3 most famous athletes, and arguably the most famous star of Hollywood blockbusters.) None of these individuals have money problems.

Mike Tyson is black too- but he trusted the wrong people with his money and spent lavishly and that’s why even though he’s famous, the man is broke.

  7. John T Says:

That is a lot of questions.

    1) Hard to say. I think there are a lot of people who are more famous, but perhaps not if you confine it solely to ‘entertainers.’

    2) Yes, Pete Best, John Lennon and George Harrison are all quite dead.

    3) Um… probably not. They didn’t buy quite as many giraffes or ferris wheels as the late Mr. Jackson. They didn’t pay to close down malls to have multi-million dollar shopping sprees. Nor did they pay as much hush money to parents of children with whom they showered, got drunk, and masturbated together. So, totally different lifestyles. But, you make an interesting comparison, because Jackson did own some rights to the Beatles catalog of music. In any event, he was not in debt. He had cash flow problems, but the value of his estate, once you factor in the rights to his music and his portion of the Beatles catalog, after deducting debt, is in the hundreds of millions of dollars, so therefore…

    4) No, and that is a pretty stupid conclusion (no offense). He was not in debt, and if he had bad management and lawyers, it was his own fault, no matter what the color of his skin–which is itself a topic of interest.

  8. ☠GhostOfJaneDoe☠ Says:

I thought you said this was a serious question? It’s not. It’s a racist rant.

When Michael was hinting at racism, his mind wasn’t clear because of his addictions and he was being fed racist Muslim crap through Jermaine. Give me a break! He *was* the most famous person in the world! If this world was as racist as you’re trying to make it, how could a BLACK MAN *possibly* be the most famous person in the world? Just because you’re mixed doesn’t mean you can’t be racist. Deserved more respect? What do you want for him? I mean, seriously…you see his fans. You read what we say. As for Sony…Michael could have signed off on his contract or paid to fulfill it and went somewhere else. Why didn’t he? If he felt he was being so mistreated, why didn’t he find someone else he could work better with? Someone he felt had his best interests at heart?

The man spent his money all over. He wasn’t careful. He didn’t invest properly. You can’t blame that on racism. Why is it that racism is used as such an easy way out when people just don’t want to face the truth? Isn’t it possible that Ringo and Paul invested more wisely? Why does it have to be because they’re white? Maybe they’re more financially adept than Michael was?

And I have to laugh. "Black people are always ranked second in everything". Then why do we have a black president? lmao

  9. Kelsea; I'll Cover You, MJ Says:

I’m a bit unsure of your argument – or rather how Michael’s ethnicity is the reason he was in debt. As Sexiest Avatar said, Michael could spend money much faster than he could make it – especially in his later years in particular. While of course we’d like to point the finger at someone else and blame them for Michael’s financial woes – Michel was simply not good with managing his money. I mean, he was taking out loans to pay off other loans (well, his people were), he wan’t paying off bills and interest rates really add up after a while – especially when we’re talking about millions and millions of dollars, he wasn’t doing himself any good by just letting them it sit there and escalate. Sprinkle that with the fact that he could spend money like a champ, and it’s really no wonder he was hundreds of millions in debt. It had nothing to do with his race – it was more of the fact that his finances were not managed well and he didn’t have a competant financial advisor. He needed to have more personal control over his books, but he made the mistake of trusting other people to ‘take care of it’ and they didn’t.

  10. I love you Michael forever Says:

I agree with Sexiest Avatar. But I do have another theory. I DO think being black had something to do with his death. I believe the NWO hated the fact that a black man was such a superstar, plus, he was beginning to speak out about them. Then, he ends up dead before his time. I love you MJ…rest in peace!

  11. Thriller boy Says:

Yea sony was being a racist punk. Despite low promotion 4 MJ’s "Invincible" album it still sold really well compared 2 other artists. 10 million compared 2 only a couple of million, by other artists? I’ll say that’s pretty good.

  12. Valerie K Says:

Michael Jackson has been a famous celebrity icon for nearly 40 years. He went from being a musical child prodigy adored by all, to the “King of Pop” who still holds the most records ever sold in history for this “Thriller” album.

Being the "King of Pop" has brought him much fame complete with music and contributions that made him a positive icon for cultural peace and environmental preservation. There are some who adore him for who he was through his lyrics, musical performances & humanitarian efforts, and others who hated him as a result of the negative assumptions and allegations.

Whatever one’s view of Michael Jackson may have been, the one undeniable fact is that he has impacted so many lives in some way or another. Truly there are many who genuinely mourn the loss of "The King of Pop".
