john’s reasoning for not having vocals is that he wanted it to show that it was missing something
i was lucky enough to go to the memorial, and it was absolutely incredible to experience the love all the performers and fans had for him. It was a very moving experience

I think what some of you are upset about is the outro with the kinda blues riffs. Sometimes music is a little narrow and not so expansive then a lot may think.; especially this song. I think Mayer did a great job and did his best to improvise his own natural “Blues” element to a song written to…well, the King of “Pop”.

I wanted to slap the superficial boy at 3:20 What’s that crap? How many times are you gonna play that stupid cliché motif, Mayer? You had announced it already TWICE at 3:09 and 3:14. Enough already! Right after 3:22 was the peak of my wish for physical harm to your cheesy ass. PLAY SOMETHING! Something other than short repetitive cliché rock shit riffs practiced all your life in your mum’s basement and at some sitcom chick’s apartment. You don’t just play the damn melody on ALL the verses!! We know the friggin’ melody dude; you’re supposed to depart, vary on the melody at some point, and improvise, express more than the cheese whiz you delivered

I mean come on; BORING!
Mayer is grossly overrated as a serious guitarist, not sure why. A good agent? A huge ego and willingness to be seen around paparazzi? It takes more than somewhat blissfully frownish facial expression to validate your playing, shorty. This ain’t heavy metal; you’re always trying to convince people youve got jazz cred, yet this performance (as all your other ones) was lazy as fuck. Saw it live. Kept waiting for a solo. Never heard one.
